Lesson Transcript

Hey, what’s up? It’s Sam Frost here from Reviewsboss.com and in this video, niche sites explained. We are diving deeper into the popular topic of niche websites for affiliate marketing. In this video, we are going to cover really three key areas. We’re going to cover what niche sites are, we’re going to cover why you might want to pursue niche sites as an affiliate strategy, and we’re going to look quickly at the niche site formula. Then, we are going to wrap up with some next steps and how you can get started.

Let’s start with the basics. What are niche sites? Well, at the absolute most simple level, a niche site is something that’s focused on a topic. It’s a website focused on a topic like digital marketing or classic cars. What you’ll tend to find is that there are niches of varying depth so there are broad niches and narrow niches.

Classic cars, that would be a pretty broad niche but we could break that down further. We could look at Japanese classic cars or American classic cars or affordable classic cars, basically becoming more specific, more narrow. Obviously, as you go more narrow, you have greater interest and intent from your audience.

From the perspective of affiliate marketing, another key aspect of niche sites is monetization. Niche sites are often monetized with things like product reviews that then link to affiliate products. If you’ve got a dog training site, you might sell dog training collars that are sold through Amazon and you get a cut for every sale that is made. Most of the time when people talk about niche sites they’re talking about sites that are built and then you get traffic from SEO, search engine optimization. You write content on long tail keywords like best home coffeemaker for under $300 and then you try to rank that keyword or rank the site for that keyword and get people clicking to your website.

Why would you consider pursuing niche sites as an affiliate marketing strategy? Well firstly, it’s a proven concept. Niche sites have been around for a very long time and the truth is they are unlikely to die off any time soon. The internet does change but niche sites are likely to stay with us for many years to come. Another advantage of niche sites is that it’s very affordable to get started. Now you can get started for free actually but to make a really good [inaudible 00:02:20] you will want to put aside a little bit of money. Realistically, $50 a month is going to give you everything you’d need to get started. You might even be able to do it for less than that and I will show you exactly how.

The final reason to pursue niche sites is that there is huge potential for growth, both in terms of growing the size of your site you build; so getting more traffic, more sales, basically making it more of an asset and also expanding to have multiple sites so building up a really nice portfolio designed to grow and make you more money. Now take a look at the niche site formula at its most basic. The first step is all about picking that niche whether it’s dog training or personal development or getting better at basketball or playing golf better or becoming a professional laser strike player, whatever it is, you’ve got to have a niche.

Once you’ve picked your niche it’s research time. What we’re researching here is keywords. We’re going to try and pick good, long tail keywords to rank for and get traffic. We also want to find products that we can sell as an affiliate to get commissions so research will be a really key step of the niche site process. Once you’ve picked a niche and you’ve done your research, the next step is to actually start building the site; putting the framework together, writing content or getting the content outsourced and basically building up a working website as an asset for your niche website business, and on this channel I’m going to show you exactly how to do that in a cost effective manner.

The final piece of the formula, once you’ve got your website in place, is to drive traffic through SEO, through social media, maybe even through paid traffic methods and in scale, basically; get more traffic, get more sales, make your website bigger and better and maybe even start adding more sites. I will show you how to do all of this for free on this channel.

My final piece of advice is really simple, start planning and building your niche site. Now, it’s not going to be an overnight journey to get there and get results. Make sure you subscribe to this channel as well. I’ve got tons more videos coming, training you step-by-step how you can build, grow, and monetize your niche sites as well as other affiliate strategies. Thanks for watching.
